The Supreme Court and My Hometown is a free, immersive civics program for high school students (typically grades 10-12) to investigate landmark Supreme Court cases that originated in their local communities. Sponsored by the Supreme Court Historical Society, and in conjunction with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, it affords eligible high school students the opportunity to participate in a free after-school, semester-long program during which they will hear from community speakers, engage in panel discussions with judges, attorneys, and other court staff, and explore the Supreme Court case of Lochner v. New York, while learning about Kentucky’s own Supreme Court Justice, John Marshall Harlan. See the attached flyer for more information.
