Changes to Federal Rules and the Miscellaneous Fee Schedule

Monday, December 12, 2016

Effective December 1, Fed. R. Civ. P. 6(d) and Fed. R. Crim. P. 45(c) have been amended to remove service by electronic means under Rule 5(b)(2)(E) from the modes of service that allow 3 days to act after being served. As a result, the Court has entered Joint General Order 2016-03 which revises the Court's Electronic Case Filing Administrative Policies and Procedures to reflect these changed response times. The Court has additionally eliminated the automatically calculated response deadlines that had previously appeared in CM/ECF's docket text.
Also effective December 1, the Court's miscellaneous fee schedule has been updated to reflect the inflationary adjustments to the district court miscellaneous fee schedule that the Judicial Conference had previously approved.
